After bringing The Pointer Sisters, Shaggy and En Vogue to the Belgian music temple in Antwerp,
it is now time for an other American pop diva to share the stage with Natalia her name is Anastacia.
Anastacia (born Anastacia Lyn Newkirk; September 17, 1968) is an American singer-songwriter. Anastacia has been highly successful in Europe, Asia, South Africa and South America, but has not had as much success in her native United States. Her debut album, Not That Kind, released in 2000, achieved multi-platinum sales in Australia, New Zealand and much of Europe.
In January 2003, Anastacia decided to have her breasts reduced because of back strain. From a routine mammogram for the surgery she discovered she had breast cancer. She immediately started and successfully completed surgery and radiotherapy. Anastacia subsequently established the Anastacia Fund to promote awareness of breast cancer among younger women.
She has attributed her health scare to being an inspiration for the sound and content of her third album. According to an interview she gave in 2005 on British music station The Box, her voice lost its power and she became unable to record and thus she spent a long time writing and trying to create a sound she would be finally happy with.
In 2005, she was recognized for worldwide sales of over 20 million albums/records. Anastacia is world-renowned for her powerful soul voice, and her small stature 5 feet 3 inches (160 cm)
has also led to her being nicknamed "The Little Lady with The Big Voice".
She was also known for her trademark glasses (often darkly tinted), but she had surgery to correct her vision permanently in August 2005.
On March 23 2010 Anastacia announced she will join Natalia Druyts during Natalia Meets Anastacia concerts at the Sportpaleis Belgium in January 2011 for 6 arena shows. Currently over 100,000 tickets has been sold. In early July Anastacia and Natalia recorded a duet "Burning Star" that was released on September 17 in Belgium to promote the "Natalia Meets Anastacia" concerts.
The single wasen't really promoted due to the fact that Natalia's father wasn't well. Nathalia even canceled her trip to America to spend time with her father. But dad didn't stop the press from writing that the single from Natalia and Anastacia was a flop and didn't sell. But I can't re-call ever hearing this single on the radio. And you could also read in the paper raport of Sathurday the 14th of Januari that ther was not a lot of there was no atmosphere in the crowed first half of the concert, but they didn't see the second half because they had to write ther piece. I however can tell you that the concert was amazing, it might have been one of the best concerts I have ever seen.
There was a good a atmosphere in the crowed and they really sang allong to almost all of the songs , it was really amzing. Natalia and Anastacia also seemed to have a good time on stage together. There amazing voices were a match made in heaven. In some songs you weren't even sure how was singing, it was very hard to tell them apart if you weren't looking at them. It is also rumored that they became close friends over the time they announced the concerts and working towards them. There was also a picture in the paper this morning of Natalia's new tattoo, and the idea for the tatto came from Anastacia. The tattoo is a tribute to Natalia's father how died of cancer on November 11th of 2010.
In other words, this concert is a blast and have to go see it if you can.
